Clinton will meet President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, and his main rival, Atiku Abubakar, of the People’s Democratic Party. Facilitated by Kofi Annan Foundation, the meeting would come a day before the presidential election slated for February 16. Doss opined that Clinton’s presence will demonstrate “the importance of these elections not only for Nigeria but Africa as a whole”. They will go back in body bags because nobody will come to Nigeria and tell us how to run our country,” said El-Rufai. Last year Buhari and Atiku both signed an agreement stating a commitment to hold a peaceful election.
